Privacy Policy
Information We Collect
RuneHaven SMP collects only the minimum information necessary to operate the server and community. This includes:
- Minecraft username and UUID — collected automatically when you connect to the server, used to manage your account, progression, and permissions.
- IP address — logged temporarily by Minecraft server software for security and anti-abuse purposes.
- Discord communications — any messages, reports, or interactions you initiate with staff through our Discord server are retained by Discord under their own privacy policy.
- Store purchase data — if you make a purchase through our store, transaction data is handled by our store provider (Tebex/Buycraft). We receive your Minecraft username and purchase details to apply your rank or perks.
- Website analytics — basic, anonymised page view data may be collected via Cloudflare to help us understand traffic. No personally identifiable information is collected at the website level.
How We Use Information
We use the information we collect solely to:
- Operate and maintain the RuneHaven Minecraft server and website.
- Manage player accounts, permissions, ranks, and in-game progression.
- Enforce our community rules and respond to appeals or support requests.
- Fulfil purchases made through the store and apply associated perks.
- Protect the server from abuse, cheating, and malicious activity.
Third-Party Services
RuneHaven SMP uses the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:
- Discord — community communication platform. See discord.com/privacy.
- Tebex (Buycraft) — store and payment processing. See tebex.io/privacy.
- Cloudflare — website hosting, CDN, and DDoS protection. See cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
- Mojang / Microsoft — Minecraft account authentication. Your Minecraft account is subject to Mojang's privacy policy.
We encourage you to review the privacy policies of these third parties directly, as we have no control over their data practices.
Cookies & Tracking
The RuneHaven SMP website does not directly set cookies. However, third-party services embedded in or linked from the site — including Cloudflare and the Tebex store — may set cookies in accordance with their own policies.
We do not use tracking pixels, fingerprinting, or any form of cross-site user tracking on this website.
Data Retention
Server logs containing IP addresses are retained for a limited period for security purposes and then deleted. Player account data (username, UUID, progression) is retained for the duration of the server's operation. If you wish to have your data removed, please contact us via Discord.
Children's Privacy
RuneHaven SMP is a Minecraft server accessible to players of all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 beyond what is incidentally captured through standard server operation (username, UUID, IP).
If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information to us, please contact us via Discord and we will take prompt steps to address your concern.
Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights regarding your personal data, including the right to access, correct, or request deletion of information we hold about you. To exercise any of these rights, contact us via Discord. We will respond to all requests in a reasonable timeframe.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, the "Effective" date at the top of this page will be revised. Continued use of the server or website following any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy. Significant changes will be announced in our Discord server.
